The Miners hosted the North Daviess Cougars on Tuesday, October 3rd.  Due to low numbers, there was a 4 quarter game for mostly 8th graders.  Followed by 2 quarters for 7th graders.
The 8th graders started off slow when the Cougars intercepted a pass, converted a fake punt, and scampered in for a TD on an option play.  The Cougars led 6-0.  The Miners would answer on their next drive.  Kaulin Padgett broke free for a 30 yard TD run.  The Miners led 7-6.  The Miner defense would hold on the following Cougar possession.  Drew Smith would score on a 37 yard run with a few seconds left in the 1st quarter.  Miners led 14-6. The Miners led 21-6.  The following drive, North Daviess tried to catch the Miners asleep with a halfback pass on 2nd down.  Jaydan Miller intercepted the pass and returned it 43 yards as time expired in the 1st half.  The Miners led at the half, 21-6.  The Miner defense continued to hold strong in the 2nd half.  During the 3rd quarter, Drew Smith connected with Cam Goodman on a 15 yard TD pass.  The Miners led 28-6.  In the 4th quarter, Kaulin Padgett would score his 2nd TD on a 5 yard run.  The Miners win 34-6.
